The minimum age to rent or drive our vehicles is 25 years.

All our rental vehicles come with $2,000,000 liability insurance included in the rental price. We offer an optional Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) upon check out. The LDW cost and Deductible varies between vehicles.

Yes, all our vehicles are monitored with GPS monitoring devices. GPS data will be accessed if the vehicle isn’t returned as scheduled or used in violation of the rental terms (such as excessive speeding or off-road use). Automated alerts notify us of any use in violation of the rental terms.

Yes, we do offer drop-off service.

We require vehicles to be returned with the same fuel level as it was at the time of check-out. In addition, we offer a refuelling service for your convenience as well as for any vehicles returned below the required level, subject to a refuelling fee.

All our rental cars come with 100 km allowance per day for short term bookings. Monthly and weekly rentals have separate km limits as outlined in the rental agreement.

All our vehicles are for on-road use only. Off-road use is strictly prohibited and will result in an additional service fee, the loss of the damage deposit and immediate termination of the rental agreement.

No, smoking or vaping is strictly prohibited in all our vehicles. Smoking or vaping in the vehicles will result in the loss of the damage deposit, a cleaning fee and loss-of-use fee as defined in the rental agreement.

All personal belongings are your responsibility and are required to be removed from the vehicle prior to returning it. We are not responsible for any personal items left in the vehicle.

Yes, the minimum age to rent and or drive one of our vehicles is 30.

All drivers must have a full graduated driver’s license from their home jurisdiction (Province, State or Country).

For Nova Scotia, a full Class 5 (or better) license is required.

Absolutely! All valid international driver’s licenses are accepted. Note that an English language translation of your license from your country of origin, if applicable, will be required. You will be required to have both items in your possession. If your driver’s license has an English translation, an International Driving Permit is not required.

Yes, a major credit card (e.g. Visa or MasterCard) is required for all rentals. Cash is not accepted including for the damage deposit.  The name on the credit card must match the name on the renter’s driver’s license.

Once your reservation is approved, a temporary authorization hold for the entire estimated cost of the reservation will be placed on your credit card 48 hours prior to the reservation. The actual payment, due at the conclusion of the rental period when the vehicle is returned, will be charged to your card at that time.

All vehicles operated through 585 Drive Inc. are insured under a centralized commercial insurance program arranged and maintained by 585 Drive Inc. 

A damage deposit (which varies depending on the vehicle) is required with each rental. The deposit is refundable if the vehicle is returned undamaged. Cash is not accepted for the damage deposit.

We will secure the damage deposit at the time that the reservation is approved. An authorization for the deposit will be completed using your credit card and these funds will be held but not charged and be released if and when the vehicle is returned undamaged.
